It used to be but there is a huge shift happening.  People are willing to work for less – if it gives them freedom, purpose, and other things that are important to them.  Money is no longer the single big hook that it used to be.  For Organisations who depend on it being so – it creates a problem because how do you retain the talent that has built your success?

People are not a commodity.  Each have their own uniqueness and so it is not so simple as just ‘replacing’ them.  Building relationships and trust within an organisation, as well as with customers, takes time and consistency.  It is not a cliche: people DO…..do business with people. They are not robots. They need to feel their individual creative spark within themselves and with each other.

Of course the bottom line is important but does it have to be at the cost of enjoyment?  Or actually, does the enjoyment of work ‘feed’ the bottom line? Does it open up new ideas and inspiration?  In doing so, does it make work a place where people go because they want to, not just  have to?  Can they say goodbye to ‘thank god its Friday’ and get excited that it is Monday?

The answer to all of those questions, is a resounding YES. We spend over half of our lives at work and so it is a long time to just get by. We do not need to. Work is the most amazing opportunity to truly express all that we are but you need to understand what gets in the way of it and that is where I help you…to put the JOY back into enjoyment and experience the success that it brings, as it unites the talent of people – for the benefit of all.
